Algonquian Indians
The Algonquian Indians lived In America for thousands of years. They crossed the frozen land bridge to america. In 1607 when the settlers arrived to the Virginia the indians were confused and unhappy. Just imagine someone coming into your house and claiming ownership. The Algonquian Indians were Successful hunters and gathers. They pretty much had everything under control. There captain was Chief Powhatan and the tribe was Werowocomoco. Chief Powhatan's brother "Opechancanough" captured John Smith and took him back to the Werowocomoco Village were the tribe was planning on killing him. Right before he was about to die Pocahontas saved Smith and brought him to safety. Pocahontas and Smith had a great relationship.
Some no better than they should be, had plotted with the president, the next day to have put him to death by the Levitical law, for the lives of Robinson and Emry; pretending the fault was his that had led them to their ends: but he quickly took such order with such lawyers, that he laid them by the heels till he sent some of them prisoners for England.
